Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry at a meeting of the Women Entrepreneurs Council on the Balkans.
On 29/11/2012 a meeting of the Association of Balkan Chambers (ABC) Women Entrepreneurs Council was held in Nicosia, Cyprus, organized by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and ABC. The meeting was attended by Panayiotis Loizides, General Secretary of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Alexandra Galanou, President of Business and Professional Women of Cyprus. The President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tsvetan Simeonov, took part in the meeting of the ABC Women Entrepreneurs Council. Bulgarian female entrepreneurs were represented by Architect Vesela Miryanova. In her speech she pointed out that the powerful and influential organization lies at the foundation of many positive changes in the society. Female entrepreneurs can be an example of worthy professionals who legally, vigorously and with a lot of work create prospects for Bulgaria. During the meeting topical issues and matters concerning female entrepreneurs were addressed, such as the need of education, sources of financing, decrease discrimination, etc. The Association of Balkan Chambers Women Entrepreneurs Council was founded to support women in their entrepreneur activities, to act as a mediator in making business contacts; to assist the provision of information, scientific services, management advice to its members, etc. As a non-governmental organization the Council aims at stimulating the female entrepreneurship in Bulgaria in cooperation with the public institutions, the business community, and other non-governmental organizations from Bulgaria and elsewhere. The Council was found in 2010, with the active participation of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its goal is to unite business women from the Balkan countries.
